I was just wondering why Avery has their decoys made in China? Seems to me like it would be common sense to have the products made in the Good Ole USA employing American workers. I don't want to start trouble, cause I only own one of your products and it will probably be the only one I buy, but why not have factories here? I would rather pay a few $$$ more for a product which stimulates our economy and not another foreign power.
Just a question guys, don't get all bent outta shape please.

ks,
This a good question that probably a lot of people wouldn't understand and I will attempt to give you the simplist explanation without overstepping my understanding of economics and American businesses. With the US economy today the way it is and will continue to be, we have a global use of exports, imports, labor, etc. With this said, businesses must have themselves a top priority in order to survive or be successful and over the years through technology we have broadened our capabilities as a country which increases our PPF (Production Posibilities Frontier- a graph showing all labor and resources being used to their fullest potential). I will tell you that this does not strengthen foreign powers and in fact has strengthened our economy. With lower prices, you increase the quantity demanded which allows consumers to purchase more of something, which increases your dollar's buying power (this actually slows down or decreases inflation). If I were an economist I could literally write a book regarding your question, but I'm not. If you still question this please contact some of the staff at Avery's headquarters and they will help. I hope this helps some.

Here Here!!!!!!!!! Its an economic reality for smaller firms not only remain viable but to thrive in todays ecomomy to out source some manufacturing labor. Lets not forget that a product creates many jobs as its cycles through our economy, labor being only one. Think of the the dock worker, domestic shipper, retailer and not to forget the Avery employees themselves. Without the ability to provide a high quality products at competitive rates many firms in the U.S. would cease to function and all would suffer. I live and work in an area that is primarly agriculture and was involed in light manufacturing. Many of those jobs have filtered away but in time have been replaced with better paying, better future jobs in other growth industries.
Nuff soap boxen from a small town hunter.
