I recently got into another club so now i have two and i need to purchase more decoys for one blind. I have always used G&H with good sucess and they seem to hold up for years.

My question is how well are the new GHG duck decoys holding up for extended periods of time left out during the season. Our season is about 100 days long and the decoys will be out from start to finish, wind, rain and sun. How long can i expect these decoys to hold up for with these harsh conditions?

Just for a note, i take extra care of my decoys during the offseason, (cleaned, baged and keep indoors)

Thanks, Ryan

Ryan, if you do what you say in terms of storing them the right way, they will last a very long time. The walk-in hunter or the guy that picks his decoys up everyday will put 10 times the abuse on decoys as the guy that puts out a load and leaves them. I am one of those guy's that has to pick up decoys everytime I head out, and I by no means baby my decoys, and they have held up great. Rest easy and believe me when I tell you that your decoys will look as good as new for a very long time. Good luck this season and don't forget to post some pictures. Wish our state had over 90 day's like you guy's!!! We are all very jealous here in the Mississippi flyway!

Ryan- I will back up what Travis said. By FAR, my favorite place to hunt is a backpack hunt that is 1 mile, 300 yards to get there. The decoys get jostled and rubbed for a long ways in and out. The two of us that hunt that area commented at the end of the season that our decoys, some 2 years old, looked great, even with all the crap we put them through. ( to alleviate SOME of the wear, we started using 12 slot bags, and that obviously helped a great deal.)
Good luck this season.

I think you'll be safe to buy GHG...

Ryan,

I have left decoys out all year round to see how sun, rain, and snow effect the paint. So far no problems with any paint fade at all. I also have a few that my 4 year old son and they have held up perfectly to all sorts of banging around in the tub. I know a lot of you guys down south leave your spreads out all season long and GHG will go the distance!

I have a club in Missouri and we had around 60 doz GHG decoys of various species last year. They were left out all season and were even "Froze in" twice. I have zero complaints or concerns in their durability after the heck they went through last year.
