Should i drill holes in all of my GHG Shells? Only the feeders? Do I drill from the outside of the shell or the inside of the shell? Just trying to get some info so that I don't make a mistake...or hope that I don't anyway! I'd like to add some motion to my spread of 30 dekes...12 shells, 12 silos, and 6 FB's. Thanks for the help in advance

DuckAvenger, I drilled mine on the outside. Simply take your finger underneath the shell, find the balancing point with the head on, mark it and drill. I used a 5/16'' drill bit.
I only did my Rester and feeders. I want my sleepers motionless and laying flat on the ground.

Andrew,
I drilled holes in most of my shells. Like Jed said, I do not put motion stakes on sleeper shells. I balanced my shells with the heads on the shells. I labeled my shells so I could match the heads to the shells. Rester heads and feeder heads make the shell balance at a different point in the back. You will find detailed instructions on each package of GHG Universal Motion Stakes. I hope this helps.

Rusty gave a good tip about making sure the decoys are marked for the different heads. The different heads will balance different and you want to make sure everything is like the first time that you got the balance point of the decoy.

The balancing point is alittle different. The hole is drilled alittle farther back on the feeder than the Rester, simply because of the frontward weight distribution of the Feeder head pose.
Overall, IMO, Its not that far off, and after I did mine, I switched heads on some of mine after drilled, and saw very little difference.
These motion stakes get your shells off the ground, add motion and help give your O.S. GHG shells a ''Fullbody'' look.

Just like Jed I too noticed very little difference in motion from exact point of balance to good enough for govt work. I ended up drilling all my shells and didn't worry about the head to body match as much. They still worked awesome and it saved time which was my biggest thing as we usually set very large spreads. Attached is proof they work even in a good stiff breeze!
