Has anyone seen the S.U.B. in person? How does it compare to the Finisher?

F.A Blinds usually uses 900D covers on there blinds. The new S.U.B blind has a 600D cover on it I read. You will want to check the cover out before you buy it to see if it is going to stand up. They bulid awesome blinds but I would want to the cover first! Good luck. guideman!!!

Here's what I've been able to find so far:
ELIMINATOR "S.U.B."
This blind is the best of all worlds, Final Approach has delivered the total package with the ELIMINATOR S.U.B. This blind has the size and looks of a "PRO GUIDE" 36" W x 85" L x 18"H, but can be broke down smaller than an X-LANDER. This blind has all of the features that you have come to expect from Final Approach such flip lids, stubble straps, 600D camo fabric with waterproof backing, flagging holes and padded head rest. This blind packs so small that freight which has been an issue with ground blinds is no longer an issue, weighing in at only 17 lbs this blind is exactly what the hunter has been looking for. Oh, and the price does not hurt either.
Max4 - $249.99
Field Brown - $199.99

SiouxperDave,
I don't know of anyone who has seen one in person, and I wouldn't think using the Avery Message Boards would be the best way to get information on a product made by an Avery competitor. I would suggest Flocknocker, The Refuge or Waterfowler.com.
But, since you asked for a comparison, the copy in Mack's give a lot of specs.
SUB weighs 17 pounds
Finisher weighs less than 18 pounds
Prices are the same
Both have FaceFlaps
Both have flagging holes
Finisher has CamoStraps
SUB appears to have CamoStraps, but they aren't listed
SUB 600D cover
Finisher 900D cover
SUB 1200D floor
Finisher 1800D Floor
Finisher folds to 42" long by 16" wide
SUB folds to 48" long by 36" wide
Finisher is available in Max-4, Shadowgrass and Field Khaki
SUB is available in Max-4 and Field Brown
So in review, in four categories the blinds have approximately the same features, but the Finisher is made from stronger material, folds smaller and is available in more color options.
Again, I would encourage you to ask this question on some of the other sites that you frequent.

Well put Bill- Prices aside, I personally need something that folds up small. I only have so much room in my rig for decoys, dog kennel, blind bags, waders, blah blah blah.
Then you bring up the material, and it really isnt a comparison. I abuse my stuff, and I just as soon get the toughest one I can get. Its probably a good blind. But, I KNOW the Finisher is, and I know it will take a ton of abuse.
Siouxper- best thig you can do is try each out, and see for yourself. I dont know how hard you use your equipment, but if you hunt like we do, you will want the heavier material at the same price-

I didn't figure I'd get an impartial opinion here but I thought I'd try. I had posted on the other sites mentioned but hadn't gotten any good info. It was worth a shot. Oh well...

What wasnt impartial about it? Bill laid the specs out in the open right down to the price. The major differences in the two would be material made with. It isnt as heavy, and thats a fact, not an impartial opinion. It also folds down to a larger size. If room is an issue, which it is for alot of us, or if you treat your equipment like alot of us do, then its a much simpler choice. By all means try them both out and see which one YOU like best, and make your own informed choice. The best thing you can do with any blind, if its an option, is to test drive it at the store. I get some weird looks, but I have hopped in the blids with my calls before to see how much room I had for calling, movement etc... Then try folding it up, and whipping it back out on your own and carrying it in whatever method it is made for- shoulder strap or backback, or nothing.
The blind you are asking about sounds very similiar to a Finisher. I havent seen it at all, just the specs, but immitation is the best form of flattery. In this case though, its maybe not apples and apples. Try them both, and I will bet you would prefer the Finisher.

"Imitation is the best form of flattery"
What is that supposed to mean?? Are you implying that Final Approach is trying to imitate Avery blinds? Just curious.

Ben,
I'm not speaking for Mark, but I'm sure that he meant Final Approach is imitating the Avery Finisher by now offering a blind somewhat more compact than the original Eliminator. The Finisher is the original as far as compact folding blinds. Judging from the dimensions, it looks like the new Final Approach blind foot end folds to make it a little less unwieldy. If you don't have an 8' truck bed, the original Eliminator hangs out of your truck and the tailgate has to stay down. If you drive an Explorer or other such SUV, the Finisher is the only way to go.

I just thought that statement was a little cheap in my opinion. So based on your theory and Mark's Avery was simply imitating Final Approach because they had the first low profile laydown blind? Thats my assumption based on YOUR words, am I right?
You people kill me. I know Avery makes great products, I own several of them and will probably buy a finisher or migrator in the next few weeks, but you guys never ever talked about Avery products until you were put on their pro-staffs. now you talk about them like you invented the dang things. The bottom line is Final Approach hasnt copied anyone, and the same goes for Avery. Both companies products have their strengths and weaknesses. I just get so sick of people always saying AVERY AVERY AVERY or ANY COMPANY for that matter, just because they are a "pro-staffer."
Just my opinion. This opinion is not directed toward anyone that is EMPLOYED by Avery, but the people represent them on the internet come off a little too much like used car salesmen.

Ben, I will speak for myself and saying if you look at when I signed up on this site, as well as my member number, I am one of the older if not the oldest member on the site next to the guys directly working for Avery.
I have been using Avery products, Blind bags, floating gun cases ankle garters , shell belt, neck gaiters, etc.. for years.
Talking about these products and giving your insite as well as other Avery products is part of a pro-staffers job.

No guys, I am not tying to get anyone cranked up. This is what I am saying- The two blinds being compared, not the two companies, are very similiar. The blinds have similiar features, right down to price. The difference is the material, and slightly the size. I have always encouraged people to compare for themselves, and still do. I dont go out of my way to say Avery is the best, the products do a great job of proving it. If people test them out, they see that on their own. Nothing personal was meant guys. FA makes a good blind, obviously. Get the one that works best for you. The comparison was laid out- thats it. I personally Avery or not, need something to take abuse, and be compact. I have an SUV, and no trailer. That makes fitting all my gear very hard to say the least. Smaller the better, and thats why I use a power hunter over anything else.
Take it easy guys- the season is almost here- dont be offended over an opnion. It wasnt meant that way.
