I was curious how durable the flocking on the canada decoys was. I generally don't hunt much on blue bird days, usually its snowing, sleeting or raining or all three combined and given the instructions concerning the care of these decoys I was wondering how the flocking would hold up even when babied in adverse hunting conditions. Thanks.

I'm not a big fan of GHG fullbody geese (sold my 4 dozen this summer)..........But the flocking on those decoys was the best I've ever seen. I beat the crap out of those decoys, and the flocking looked like new still. Definitely the most durable flocking out there IMO.

The flocking on the all of the GHG Full Bodies is very durable. I have hunted with flocked head GHG Full Bodies since January 2004. I used Fully Flocked GHG Full Bodies the entire 2004-2005 season. If you follow the directions provided with the full bodies, they will provide you with years of service. I have hunted in rain and snow with no effect to the flocking. That is the beauty of the fully flocked GHG Full Bodies. They look as good as stuffers without as being as fragile. I hope this helps.

Not that I would ever advise that anyone do this but late last season I hunted in Freezing rain and had 1/4 of ice build up on the heads and bodies of my dekes. Of course I couldnt leave it on with clients in the field so we used windshield Ice scrapers to remove it. It worked and I did have minimal damage but in my opinion VERY minimal. I used to tote my self flocked heads in padded cases between each hunt and still had to patch the flocking after every season.IMO no comparision to the all around durability of the GHG'S!

With just a little extra care of the decoys, the flocking will hold up for years of good service. When I say a little extra care, I don't mean baby the decoys, I mean maybe put them in 6 slot bag or build shelves in your trailer. The decoys will hold up better this way than throwing them in a trailer in a big pile.
