I saw the new mallards the other day, they look good, motion bases did give lots of movement. How was the most effective way to transport them for anyone who has field tested them. I assume the slotted bags is the answer, but those bases seem difficult to haul and i worried about breaking them?

Check out my "Which decoy bag?" thread.

Jay,
That piece of wire should be virually unbreakable. The only time I plan on using the bases is when the ground is frozen. Most of the time I am going to be using the MotionStick.
Thanks,

Rick; I asked this question the other day in another post but did not get an answer. What’s the difference between a Univeral Motion Stake and a MotionStick? Can you describe the material and construction of the MotionStick? I have plenty of the Universal Motion Stakes and am quite familiar with their use.

Here is a picture of the RealMotion Bases and a MotionStick. The sticks are made of either graphite or a fiberglass material. The round bases are made entirely of steel except for the white plastic tips. The white tips will show up great when all the light you may have is the moon light.

I'm with Rick in that I will be using the RealMotion Bases mainly on frozen ground or on ice. Otherwise, I will mainly use the stake.

I am with Rick and Christian as well. I plan on using the Motion Stake. The main reason I will be using the stake is ease of transport. Both of the options work awesome and I think both will get plenty of use.

Christian and Curt, I know you guys hunt some pretty soft ricefields as well.
In some of these softer areas, especially with a stiff wind, that motion ''base'' will be the ticket as the bottom,(circle) of the motion base will give the stability needed to the decoy in some of these fields.
Of course this goes for the Goose fullbodies as well..
Do you get both of these options when you buy the decoys?

James, Yes, You get 6 motion sticks and 6 of the realmotion bases in every box.

Silverbellies; thanks for the picture. The base appears to be the same as the Universal’s. The top appears to be designed to prevent the decoy from unusual rotation. The white top is a good idea!!

Goose FLocker, those decoys look so natural with that white top. High or low winds and those babies are walking, not spinning.

I've got a couple dozen on order through Trader Outdoors. Tim emailed me last week and said they were on pallets, apparently shipped to him! Hoping to here from him soon.

Goose,
Let us know what you think when you get them. I'm very excited for these to get out there in some folks' hands and see if they are as impressed as I was when I saw them for the first time.

I am waiting on mine from Trader also. I am sure Tim has a ton of orders and is getting them out as fast as he can. I can't wait to see them.

The thought and development that went into this motion system is really incredible. As was previously mentioned on another post, the slight breeze from a ceiling fan had the decoys moving with life-like motion. It will be great having these in a field spread!

The motion bases for the new fullbody geese work great was up at Sportsmans Warehouse today for there Waterfowl Weekend great show as it was last year anyway during Fred & Fields seminar he had a few decoys on the table and they never stopped moving with the breeze we had even in the tent. Ended up buying a dozen field mallards got home put them in the driveway guys were giving them the long look when they drove by they also only take a slight whisper of wind to get them moving. And the limiter piece that sticks out parallel to the ground to keep the body from spinning all the way around and the legs that can be tucked up inside the body so they can appear to lay on there belly on the edge of ice or shoreline plus two kinds of stakes gets my vote over the Hardcores that were there. GREAT job AVERY&GHG!

Web,
If the FB Mallards were stopping people driving by your house, just imagine what they are going to do to the birds!!!
