I am in need of help with this issue. I have a 6 X 12 Wells Cargo and 13 doz. fullbodies. I have the sides and floor carpeted to prevent scuffing when I pile the decoys in the trailer and they all fit along with three blinds and a couple doz. GHG shells and some tubs for windlife heads. I'd like to go to the hang 'em and bag 'em system, but have concerns. 1) Will I be able to get them all in there 2) The expense of the bags ($80/doz) 3) Do the decoys go in the bags with their feet on, or do you have to take the feet off. Let me know what you guys think.

Scott:

I can't help you much but I can give you an answer to #3.....the decoys can go in the bags either way - feet on or off. I have 4 six slot bags and trust me...they are the way to go to get your full bodies into fields you cannot drive into!!!

Sorry I couldn't help you on #1 and #2.

I think it might be real close on getting them all in. Figure on 6 decoys across on the bar. You're gonna need some room in front for gear. If you have 10 usable feet in the trailer you could maybe get 5 rows or 2 .5 dozen on top and maybe another row under that. Loading might have to get creative to get them on the floor in between the hangers. You'd be able to get several dozen on the floor in the bags. Boy, I don't know. I just recently got a 6 by 12 trailer as well and have not set it up yet. Guys like Mike or Travis may be able to help more specifically.

I hear you on the cost, that's a lot of decoys you have but I'll say this...it is SO easy to handle a dozen decoys with those bags compared any other method. Well worth it IMO.

Travis has a "set up" trailer and I'm sure has it is filled to the brim. He will know the answer as to what will fit. I will get a hold of him tomorrow and get an answer for you.

AD,

I have a 6 x 10 trailer that has 9 dz GHG FBs ( a few in 6-Slot Bags), 5 dz O/S GHG shells and anywhere from 6-8 blinds; mostly Power Hunters and a couple of Finishers and Migrators. (If you saw the inside of the trailer you'd understand my uncertainty of the blind count.)

Anyway everything is pretty much just stacked in there to fit. I am not saying I don't have a "system" but as much as I like the racks system seen on some of the guys trailers here on the MB, if I employed them I would lose space and not fit all of my gear in the trailer. Ideally a bigger trailer (7 x 14), would allow me to organize the gear better but that won't happen anytime in the near future.

For now I can still close the doors on the trailer after filling it, and the decoys are holding up remarkably well. Some wear and tear when viewed up close but once deployed in the field they work as advertised!

I have a 6x12 as well. I have mine partitioned off just behind the side door with a tennis net. All my fullbodies go in the rear, which is approximately 8 feet. I have (6) 6-slot bags which hold my GHGs and G&Hs. On top of the 6 bags (3 dz), I throw another 6 dozen FBs.

I don't think your going to fit 13 dz FBs into that trailer in an "organized" fashion.

I did the organized method like Travis & Rusty and I got only 5 dozen behind the side door. If you're going to put that many in there it'll be in 6 slot bags stacked or in the famous PILE method. Good luck either way.

Guys,

Just make sure and keep your heavier gear in the front. You need the weight up there to make the trailer ride right.

Thanks,
