Take a look at these photos of the Over-Size Blue-Bills, Redheads and Canvasbacks! These decoys are in the “slick” stage right now and are ready for texturing, but they are in line behind several other projects and will not have the feathers added until the Looker-Style full body carving is completed. We expect these decoys to be finished no later than June 1 so you can expect to see them in stores by September 1. The O-S Black Ducks and O-S Goldeneyes are not even close to being in a stage to be photographed, but they should fall into the same delivery schedule so don’t panic!

I know some of my fellow TM's can't get very excited about hunting divers (Travis... tongue.gif ), but these are a welcome addition to the GHG product offerings for a large percentage of East Coast duck hunters! I look forward to seeing them on the water later this year!

Thanks,

Nevada is a big Canvasback state and these are dead on. These divers will compliment the Greenhead Gear Game Rig Clips. Another great decoy by GG.

It is really nice to hear such approving remarks, and I want to thank all of you. I also would like to take this opportunity to tell all of you that I know Fred, Dick, Charlie and Tommy appreciate your remarks as well. These guys as well as all the other carvers on the team are truly talented, and I cannot conceive of how they do it.

In addition to being great carvers, these guys are die-hard duck and goose hunters as well, and we think this definitely makes a difference when they sit down to create great "hunting" decoys.

Speaking of a great carving, Fred shipped the new Blue-Winged Teal hen carving today (this decoy will double as the Cinnamon teal hen as well), and I expect to see it by Friday. Kelly Ross did an awesome job on the carving as usual, and Fred did another incredible texturing job. The mold should be open and samples approved by mid-March so be on the lookout for this new decoy. I will forward the carving photo to Jason and ask him to post it tomorrow.

Thanks again for the nice comments!

I think these look great hands down!! The best there is out there. I'm not trying to say anything bad or knock anyone's ideas or anything of the sort, but how come the O/S bluebills are only 1 inch bigger than the lifesize? I guess I figured they be closer to 18". I'm sure there was a reason. Thanks Jason

migratin25,

That was the very first thing I thought of too. But when I went to measure the life size Bluebill I had sitting on my desk.... I noticed that the head position is in a more natural or upright position - whereas the oversized version is more relaxed and set-back. Remember Tom said the measurements are from bill to tail.... so since the oversized dekes bill is further back - I *estimate* that the OS bluebill body to be 1.5" to 2.25" longer that the original lifesize body. And don't forget - they are going to be wider and taller too!

Therefore, IMHO, the qualities desired in an oversized decoy(better visibility, better floating in rough water) should be met by these OS GHG Bluebill decoys.

Just trying to help out - maybe someone has more accurate info. smile.gif

Kevin, I understand where you're coming from. Even though the length might be just a little bigger, but the actual body will be larger all together. I was just going by what Tom said on the first page of this post that the O/S will be 14". I had looked up the lifesize and it said 13". I was just wondering is all. Thanks Jason

Guys,

These decoys should be out for the 05' hunting season. They are truly unbelievable! Our carvers have done it again! We have 10-15 decoys that we are hoping to bring into the line-up by August. You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for your patience!
