I love the oversize Mallards. Not only the paint job but the shape. From above they look just like a duck.Compared to a super mag they are a litle smaller.I was just wondering if Avery has any plans for comming out with a even larger than the oversize, a super mag in the future?

What would really be the point of making a super mag?
Something to think about:
A duck can see a duck on the water further than we can. Ever see a duck land way out from you? Ever seen other birds pitch in to that one duck on the water? How in the world did the flying duck ever see that one duck on the water without it being super large?
Ever notice that most folks that use supermags, also mix them with a bunch of smaller decoys? Why not just put that extra money in to buying more decoys instead of larger ones? Really think about that. You can buy a dozen life size for the price that it would cost to buy half dozen super mags.
If you really want to be more visible, set your decoys big. A pair here, a pair there, a few here, a few there, etc., etc. This projects your spread.
Give me 6 dozen teal over 3 dozen super mags any day. I can make a large spread that projects better, and still not take up near the room. ;)
To each his own though. smile.gif

Why bigger?Mose visible with less decoys. At my perminent blind I put out 300 duck decoys and make them look like a thousand. So I know spacing. But I would much rather put out a hundred and make it look like a thousand. This holds even more true when running and gunning. When mobil I would much rather put out 6 dozen super mags than twice as many smaller decoys for the same visible effect.
At my perminent blind along with regular size goose floaters. I also use 1 dozen super mag field shell decoys converted to floaters. It works like a magnet on sucking in geese.
I have found the same to be true when using larger duck decoys. On several polls I have taken over the years ,when put side by side it is always the guys using super mags that attract the most ducks.
The super mags also appeal more to us older hunters who would rather put out less decoys due to the work load and still have the same visile attraction as a larger spread of smaller decoys.I realize you would not sell the volume of super mags you would smaller decoys due to the cost but the market for them is still there and at present being filled by other manufactures.Due to the quality ,shape and paint job of your decoys they will soon take over the market for regular and mag decoys. Why not go all the way and do the super mags also.Make Avery the only name in decoys.
In stead of telling me why Avery shouldn`t do something wouldn`t it be better to look at why Avery should do something.Sometimes it`s the small thing about a decoy that makes the differance when making a purshase.Remember your selling to duck hunters not ducks. It`s our wants and desires your tring to meet.Isn`t that the purpose of this forum?

I agree with buckduck 100% on adding supermags to the line-up.It's nice to put out a dozen big dekes in less time than 2 dozen life size and get the same or better results

BuckDuck,
Where did I say anything about me representing Avery? I am a hunter and I spoke from my experience. I understand where you are coming from, and this is why I said to each his own. Sorry for not saying yes I would like super mags too. I thought this forum was for input on products?

It is swamp.Always glad to get you input as well as others.Didn`t mean to imply other wise.Talking about different ideas is how we determine what ideas might be worth persuing and which one are just a plain bad idea.
