Captured these guy's fooling around this morning. With Doug taking some great migration pictures, I thought we could start a thread on the springtime migration. If anyone has some pictures feel free to post up. The colors of those birds right now is stunning!!!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v600/travismueller1/Springtimemigration025.jpg

Travis, Nice shots!, Those Bluewinged drakes are beautiful in full plumage.
Yeah, it looks like the goose is hiding from him... :D

Jed, do they get any color while y'all can hunt them? What a great mount it would be if you could get 6-8 of those bad boys flying out of the wall. I have only seen a few in Arkansas and they didn't have anything yet. In Iowa they are pretty ugly yet in Sept.

Travis - I shot some BWT's in September last year, and of course, they were no where near as pretty as the ones in your picture above.
Thanks! Nice photo!

Travis, later in our regular duck season, we get some drakes with the white marking on the face and some better plumage.

Travis,
Can't tell from the shot but was the goose eyeing up the turtle or vice versa?

Does anybody know where you have to go to shoot teal like that while the season is open? I would like to get a couple for a mount. They are usually gone when our season opens up in North Dakota. If they aren't, they all look like hens.
Thanks,
Christian Curtis

Rick,
I would guess a trip to Mexico would produce some nice Teal. Go ahead and book us a couple of tickets!!!

Rick,
I with Christian on that. Book me a ticket as well. It will be pay back for the turkeys I will put you on next month. The blinds are up and ready for you. This time try to use the shoot threw windows and not my side walls.

I think so Doug.

Box turtes are not a wetland turtle. They are an upland hardwood forest turtle. Shell shape to that turtle is not shapped correctly either. There are many types of sliders and mud turtles that it could be but it is hard to tell for sure.

I would put money to say it is a slider as well just by the green head color. I need to carry a camera wit me at work. I have been working at the rock quarry for my dads co., let me tell ya what.......shovelers, wingers (blue and green), pennies, and WEEEGUNS everywhere. Not to mention hords of geese! But, this week, Kansas to get some turkeys, I will try to take some then. Great pics Travis! How close did you get to those teal?
