I may have missed them, but have any photos of the new snows and blues in feeder pose ever been posted?

Marshguy, glad you like them. Where do you get all of your gear down there? I will let you know who is going to have these in stock by August.

Shouldn't the juvenile snow be a lot grayer? I have looked at a bunch of pictures including ones I have taken and they show a lot more gray to the juvenile snows.

We put a mid-migration paint scheme on the juveniles. We wanted to be in the middle on the paint scheme and not too gray or too white. Early in the migration, they are pretty gray. The later it gets the whiter they are.

Thanks,

G&H will have these along with the Specks. The next time you are by there, you may want to tell Jim to hold what you will need.

I understand your need to find a happy medium and truly appreciate you all offering juvenile snow geese. Have you all considered offering juvenile snow geese as a seperate purchase? I would suggest offering them in at least 2 different color stages, one an early season gray and one similiar to what you have. I have looked at pictures I have taken as late as Jan. 1 which shows some pretty gray birds. I like a lot of hunters go north to hunt in the fall and it is my only chance to harvest snow geese. If I am going to have juveniles in my spread I want them to match those that I would see. Those that hunt them in Jan. or later would want the lighter colored birds.

We appreciate your suggestions on these and will see if their is anything we can do differently next year, but this is what we are offering this year. We feel it is a very strong representation of the full line of snow geese and are very proud of what we have done. Thanks for your interest and suggestions!

I am sure the packages & suggested pricing for all the new decoys for 2005 have been listed someplace but, I have not see it in a comprehensive format???
I am trying to budget my new decoys for an early trip to canada.

Yes Travis I understand it would be too late to consider any changes for this year. Just something to be considered for next year. I would be curious to hear what serious snow goose hunters would think about a grayer juvenile snow. I am really just a wannabe snow goose hunter compared to many of them.

Clayton,

From the limited amount of snows that I have harvested the juvie snow seems to be dead on and if it is more grey that you want the juvie blues get the job done as well.

When did you harvest your birds? fall or spring migration. Look at the photos Dakota Jim posted and look how gray the juvies are in his photo. I would post photos I have if I knew how that show the very gray juvies.

Guys,

I have a question and it is by no means a smart remark. Are you looking at juvenile Blue Geese? I know they are really gray for the first year. We do have an immature blue goose pictured below.

Rick,

It is a legitimate question but no I am not confusing them. I do know the difference. I have killed both juvy lesser snows and blues. I am a bird watcher as well as duck hunter. I even have a bird book that distinguishes the two and it shows the juvy snow as grayer than the decoy. I have pictures of greater snow geese in which blues are very rare. They show very gray juvy snows. Also have looked at photos taken of lesser snows in areas of the country with few to no blues (Pacific Flyway) and again plenty of gray. I was consider juvy blues a dark gray vs a light to medium gray for juvy snows.
