Got my Lookers that I traded for my Powerhunter. They do look awesome. My mom likes how they look and wants to use them as yard decorations but I doubt that is going to happen I can't wait to try them out in the fields next year.

I think that you are going to like the realism that the looker decoy adds to the spread. How many of the decoys did you get? Just a few in your set-up can make a world of difference.

How are people mixing their Lookers in their spread? I have been concerned that they look too much like geese alert to immediate danger. They look like birds watching a coyote skirting the edge of a flock.

Clayton,
We had great luck with the Lookers in our spread last year. The Geese just ate them up, with flock after flock landing by them... Just make sure not to group too many of the Lookers together.
We had good luck adding these to our "lunch line" to look like geese that just landed and walking in.

They do look like an alert goose, but that can be a good thing. I think why you see geese land by them is that the resemble a goose that has just landed. The goose hasn't had enought time to be comfortable and is just making sure the coast is clear before he puts the feed bag on.

Attached are a couple of pics...the first shows a small group of GHG Looker decoys as part of a "lunch line" setup like Greg mentioned.

The other photo (although taken with a camera not suited for the job) shows geese working to a a larger group of birds on the ground on a turf field. It may be hard to tell from the photo but there is a large number of "looker" geese in the flock. Hard to argue with the real deal.

I have used the standard sentinal geese the same way i.e. as new birds just walking in to join the flock. I was wondering if that was how you were using the lookers. They just seemed to be a little more "alert' than the typical sentinal goose. How many geese do you typically use as new birds walking in? I usually use 3-6. If three I will use one sentinal, one relaxed and one feeder. If using 6 I will use one feeder, and 2 or 3 of each of the others.

Clayton, I have used my lookers in a variety of way's. Early season I will add one to two lookers per 7-10 geese simulating a family, with the parents watching for danger. They will look like that danger or no danger. Later in the season I will add a couple to my lunch line as well in the meat of the spread looking toward the lunch line warning the newbies that they are in danger of getting their you know whats kicked if they decide to jump into their food source. It is a very natural pose in live birds and won't hurt anything in many different situations. Good luck and get some pictures.

In my opinion the Lookers are the most realistic looking goose decoys made today. With the realism of these decoys i dont think you can set them up wrong. Like others have said i change my spread as the season gets later and use them in a variety of ways from parents in a family during the early season to new birds that have landed and are hauling to get the food later in the year. Without a doubt my favorite pose and they just "seal the deal" !

I, like Travis, 2 Lookers per family group (8-10 birds) and then always add a small "flock" of Lookers to simulate a recently landed bunch making their way to the "buffet".

Sounds like I will have to give it a try this year.
