Here's my "you oughtta do it". I like my blind best when I don't even raise it. In the fully raised position, it's too high to see over when standing, and impossible when sitting. (I'm 5'10"). So, in order to sit and stay hidden, I just raise the top panels, and leave the rest down. Like to see you make a blind with only the top folding section, on a similar non-articulating frame, that closes just high enough to see over when sitting.

You mean at this height just have your doors? In early morning low light conditions or if I have the sun at my back I will sometimes leave it at this height if I feel the birds aren't busting me. But I think I see what you are talking about. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v600/travismueller1/Quick-setphotos2006.jpg

Quick sets are awesome. I use mine in several positions. When hunting honkers or mallards I usually will have the blind all the way up with the doors closed. It keeps them from looking in and seeing movement. For divers, I usually just have it in the up position with the doors down.

Blacklabbob,

Fact is, I agree 100% with the height issue that you are talking about and I asked Tom Mathews if there was anyway that this could be adjustable and if I could help in any way.. With Avery, sometimes you you need to be careful for what you wish for because five days later a blind arrived with the task ahead of me to make some improvements and suggestions on issues like the height that Tom Mathews has heard others say to him. My opinion is that of all the pop up blinds I have seen, this is really engineered boat room friendly and comfortable with a lot of room inside compared to other blinds. I have been working on the blind's frame and have the height issue figured out for the consumer in one instance where the user can set the height as the blind is constructed and leave it there like guys with permanent blinds do and then can really make the blind wind tight, but to be able to set the blind in the field was my main goal from the beginning and that is still something I am working on, I just have to get some factory logistics worked out. The main issue is with the legs that come down to hook onto the boat and let me try to explain what I mean: When the blind is shipped, the legs are seperate. The legs are hinged (one on top of the hinge and one on the bottom) in a way that they will drop down totally flat and thet is great for traveling, the issue becomes when one of the legs are shortened, the other needs to be also in order to lay flat and I have done this with mine to get the main blind height to 32 inches from the floor so when the flip tops come up they are going to be at 42-43 inches which in my opinion is a very hideable blind in any vegetation and for any hunter. Fact is, I have been talking to anyone that I know that duck hunts and ask the question about if they have the blind set at their favorite height at 43 inches or 53 inches (whatever they prefer), would they still need or want the blind to be adjustable in the field and nearly everyone said no, they prefer the blind be set and strong in the field. What is your opinion on this??
I also have some idea's on the flip top's for an option on the blind that Prostaffer Jeremy Abbas and I are going to tackle and this is just to help make a great product better. We love the input and thanks for posting this!!!
