A few pics of some FFD's after an ice storm... I'm glad we weren't hunting over anything else...when you stepped away from them the whole field was shining from the ice, but not the FFD's. The FFD's kept their good color and really looked alive in that icey field. Can't say for sure, but I bet there would have been a good frost shine on any plastic decoy and they would have disappeared in the shine of the rest of the field. The no shine on the FFD's is priceless!

I like that last pic Tony, nice light for that one. How did Ruff's feet hold up in that stuff?

I actually left him in the truck. It was terrible to walk on for me, didn't want him blasting out after a bird and possibly tearing an ligament or something if he slipped or got hung up. Was going to get him when it melted off, but we weren't there that long.

No, it was Wednesday I think. Whatever day we got the snow, had 4" at my house when we left, got a few miles down the road and there was no snow, just ice.

21/2 hours south of me and we were 40 degrees and sunny. Unreal. Did you see a lot of birds?

This is the very reason why I am going to all FFD's this year. It takes longer for the frost to build, and snow doesnt stick as easily. This just proves it.

I can't get over the realism of FFD... They look like feathers, plain and simple !!!

Trav, we saw a fair amount. Couldn't hunt the afternoon that day, I am guessing with the ice and what not the majority moved in the afternoon.

The FFDs are the ticket. The realism is undeniable. If a guy has the ability to protect them, they are the only way to go. Do you have any hero shots over them?
Good Hunting!

Great pictures Tony. I agree with all that has been said. The FFDs are the best decoy I have ever hunted over. The frost melts off a lot faster from the FFDs than anything else. That is good when you are getting an early flight and there is little or no frost left on the decoys.

Great pic's Tony. When we get weather like that it seems to be like you said an afternoon or evening deal. Wish we could get some cold weather hear. Seasons not over yet, all we can do is hope.
