Tom do you have any plains to put twisting heads on your duck decoys. I think that that would be the finishing touches on an awsome decoy. Nocalhonker

John,

I don't think you will see our decoys with swiveling or twisting heads, but you will see more and more molds with new heead styles offered each year. For example, in 2004 you will be able to buy a new low head mallard drake for the Life-Size Series, and as soon as we have finished adding all the pairs of decoys we want to offer, we will begin carving on the new head style decoys for all species. By 2006, each carton of decoys should be made up of 6-8 different bodies.

Thanks for the question.

Tom

I like the idea of not having swivel heads.
If you think about how far technology has gone, swivel heads are a cheap way out to keep from making new and better molds.

The new head position would be better then swivels. I figured it would be cheaper and easier with swiveling. Like I always say thats what I get for thinking HEHEHEHE. Thanks Tom

Here is a photo of the new Life-Size Series Gadwalls. I should not be sending this out, but I promised so...here you go. I'm going to hold the rest of the decoys pretty close to the vest, but I think you guys can see from looking at these that we have not stopped trying to outdo ourselves. Enjoy!

Tom,

These inexpensive decoys are getting very expensive. Now I got to buy a bigger boat so I have room for all of these decoys. Then there are more GHG Decoy bags, line, weights... ! :D :D

Just wait until you see the new Life-Size Snow Goose, Immature Snow Goose, Blue Goose and Immature Blue Goose Full Bodies! Swamphunter designed the paint jobs on these geese, and we are ecstatic about the look they will have.

Needless to say thay are going to be incredibly accurate in detail and size. The patterns for the carvings are being finalized, and we expect these to be available around July at the earliest. We are also carving Lesser Canada and Speck full bodies that should be available around the same time. So everyone knows, there will be Active and Feeder bodies for Snows, Blues and Immatures with the same heads and another set of bodies for the Lessers and Specks with different heads for each specie. This equals four new bodies and at least 6 new heads.

Tom,
It was my pleasure to design the paint schemes. I can't wait to hunt over the finished products. I know I said that I wouldn't buy any snow/blue fullbodies, but now my mind has changed.

Jed,
Thanks, I appreciate that as I know Tom and the Avery Family do as well.
These things are going to be awesome. You wouldn't need many either. I could almost bet that 75 would take the place of 1500 rags. Not to mention that you wouldn't have to replace them every three to four years. Bill, Tom, and I were talking about these the day that I delivered them. We all agreed that 50 to 100 of these bad boys plus an E Caller in conservation season would be a deadly combination.
One scene that keeps replaying in my mind is to have 2 dozen fullbody specks, 4 dozen fullbody snows/blues, 4 dozen fullbody mallard decoys on a dry field. That would be a deadly spread during our duck season.
In a year or so, the combinations for deadly spreads will be endless.

I totally agree, decoying birds will be made easier thanks to these I am sure.

Is there any chance of getting to see some pictures of the Snow, Blue, and Specklebelly Full-Bodies before they are ready to hit the market?
Your line of decoys are definitely the best to have hit the market in quite some time.
You really should make the decoys foam-filled so we hunters would never have to worry about sinking them when shooting at low-flying ducks.

Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!

Those new gadwall are awesome!!! I was wondering if you guys planned on any other Over-Sized series other than mallards or any super-mag sizes?? Also, what about some other diver dekes in the future? I was just curious. Thanks Jason

That's what I said alright. Fred has that project underway, and I am sure that he will amaze us with what he comes up with. Snow, blue, immature snow and immature blue Active and Feeder bodies with 6 heads styles as well as totally differnt Active and Feeder bodies for specks and Lessers with 6 Lesser heads and 6 speck heads.

That should keep everyone happy for a few weeks.

Hey Freddie, When are yall going to make a big ole Black Duck decoy?
I love everything yall are doing with your decoys, but is it true yall are going to make a full-body mallard field decoy?(I hope )
Also , are the next year models of the Canadain Fullbodies going to be flocked ? If so, is it just the heads or the tails also?

I want you to know that I think all you guys are doing a great job at Avery and with all the advances in decoys yall are making the toy soilder looking decoymakers wonder . Avery Rules ( Spammin a little aint I ) :D

Guy's,
About the only thing left for you guy's to do is offer a fully flocked decoy.... Can you imagine what that would look like.... Plus you would never have to hear guys crying about paint problems if the decoy has no paint..... ;) ;)

Add a little motion to these things and you would have a pet... :D
