Just a couple questions about Zink calls. I have a PM 1 that I really like but it is a little out of tune. I've adjusted the reed and the rest of the insides and gotten it pretty close to the sound and pressure that I like but it could use a little more. I have never shaved a reed and I am wondering if that would give me the optimum sounds. Can you give me any tips on shaving the reed? How much? End to end or side to side? Lastly, where can I get a new reed for my call to replace the one I am about to screw up? It is sbnowing out and the wind chills in the single digits, . I have to have somethig to use while the geese are here.

The PM-1 is the only call that we do not shave the reed in, but if you were to shave the reed you can take a nail file and then down the tip to make it a little higher. If you shave the middle it makes it a little deeper. It just depends what sound you are looking for.

I hope this helps you out.
