a group of us from wisconsin and minnesota are heading out to colorado around January 1 for a goose hunt. We intend to scout east of denver. Has anyone been out there before give us some tips on where to hunt or where has been successful finding the geese and avoiding the outfitters.

Alex First of all...Welcome to the boards!
The lands in and around (a 50 mile radius) Denver for the most part are annexed into a city, leased up by outfitters, or are no hunting. Not much for public spots that aren't over crowded and over hunted. The majority of the goose shooting is along I 25 north of Denver up to Fort Collins and then east to the NE and KS state line. There is virtually no free land left atleast in the main stream of the goose hunting in Colorado. There isn't any per day fields that I know of. So, your best bet is with an outfitter. If you are needing some info on reputable guides let me know I can hook you up with that or if you have any questions I would be more then happy to try to help you out. GOOD LUCK!
