I have just started hunting geese with a friend and am now going to purchase my own decoys. i would like any advice on what type to get and what positions to place them in (feeding, alert, ect.) also i have a limited budget and may only buy one dozen under the price of $175. (information for shells or fullbody)

THANKS!

wolfkid- For 175 if you want a dozen, you will have to go with shells. No problem with that! Pick up a dozen GHG shells. They will come with a mix of feeder, rester, and active heads. For another 20 bucks or so, you can get motion stakes for the decoys. This will add movement to your spread, and give it depth as well. You will be off to a good start, and believe me, in a few years you will be looking to buy a trailer for all your decoys!

If you do have shells will they still be realistic in the early season? If so how would you mix them with 6-12 fullbodies in the spread? I will have 6 Hunter series lookers and hopefully six Hunter series feeders to go along with the shells. Should we put the feeders in a lunch line together? any spread help would be greatly appreciated,
