I'am completely redoing my lanyard for next year. I'm currently adding and acrylic SR-1 and possibly a wood SR-1 or acrylic PC-1. But i'm goin to buy a good, acrlyic duck call. A zink none the less. I know the PH-1 are fantasic and sound so ducky, but the XR-2's aren't bad either. What would u guys suggest?

Keath,

Well you know what Derek and I would suggest.....since you've heard ours you know how those Power Hens sound.....and I've personally blown the xr-2 and its a great double reed. I'll have another one for next year for sure so you know you can't go wrong.

We need to get together for another hunt.....later bud...

I got the XR-2 and just love the heck out of it I really can't see ever buying another duck call. It is the closest thing i've heard to a live duck. Unless your into the ear ringing hi-baller. The best part about it is that it blows alot like you would blow your Sr-1 and I really like that.

H2O- I am a fan of single reeds regardless of the make or model. I have a Powerhen that I love. Good volume, very quick. Perfect duck call!

Keath,

Both the XR-2 and Power Hen are great calls. I prefer the Power Hen. In my opinion, the Power Hen has a little more volume then the XR-2 but can still get get low and nasty to finish birds. I also prefer single reed calls. The best advice I can give is to go to a Zink Dealer to test drive each call. If you do not have a Zink Dealer close to you, give the guys at Zink Calls a call at (937) 832-3436. They can demo the calls over the phone for you and set the call up to fit you and the performance you desire. You can also go to the link below and listen to sound files of each call.

I hope this helps.

Willis- actually this last week has been SO cold that I am forced to stay inside, so yes I have. I actually got the recorder out to record and playback and see what I missed etc... You up for the 2 man where ever next year with me again? I won't let you down this time!

I received my coke bottle XR-2 last summer, and it has been pure gold for me. It has put many greenheads in my bag this winter. I mostly hunt, open water and rivers and the XR-2 is every thing I hoped for and more. Either call you decide to get will be a great call for years to come. With either a Power Hen or XR-2 you can't go wrong.

Kenny pretty much summed it up. You can't go wrong with either one. Like the guys said. Try them out to see which one fits you best.

I personnaly like the power hen. It is very versatile and is consistent day in and day out. I use both but I use my power hen for my go to call.
