what do you think of hunting refuges? i am going to try and hunt a refuge this fall with a pit assigned, just curious how you guys feel about this type of hunt??

Thats one loaded question. There are so many factors that can make it a definite yes or no answer. If it is a well managed refuge that is not over shot, positioned in a area that has a good concentration of birds, and you have a shot at a good blind, then what time are we going? However, if it is poorly managed, heavily hit, and you pick a lousy blind you might be better off freelancing on public or private ground in the surrounding area. There are an awful lot of factors that would determine the answer to your question. One thing I will add is refuges usually have a good concentration of bands. ;)

thanks alot! i just booked a hunt for the refuge! and asked about the bands and how hard it is hit. She told me that it wasn't hit very hard this year! and i asked what the best blind was. she told me and i booked it for opening day. oh yea and she said that there were alot of bands taken out of there this year!!!!!
