what kind of decoys do you all prefer in a spread. Active, feeder, or looker/century.
and for what kind of conditions.

CurrituckBoy- A mixture of all of them. The amount of decoys I put out depends on what I see from scouting and what I see other hunters using. Late in the season I will use more actives, and bunch the feeders tight together like the only spot in that entire field that has food is right THERE, and the actives are walking up to it. Early in the year, for a relaxed look I will use more feeders than actives, or go about 50/50. I use a handful of Lookers in the spread too. The only time I don't is on occasion we will go out with only 6-12 decoys. In that case, I may only one Looker.
Another thing to look at is motion. If you want the spread to be realistic, put part of your spread on motion stakes. It will make all the difference in the world, and was by far the best 20 bucks I spent last year.
Good luck and thanks for choosing Avery/GHG!

I will back what Mark has posted. Pretty much the ssame deal here in MD. Scout the area. Try to remember how the geese are sitting in a field or spot you plan to hunt. Sometimes I go so far to photograph the live geese in the field so I have a reference to work off or remember from. Also, in the area around my home where we hunt Canadas, ducks will often be seen with geese. I am known to put out some mallards witht he geese. Usually in a very visable spot. This where the new fullbody ducks from Avery can be utlized. With their poses, they look just like ducks in a field "competing" for food. Hope this helps.
