Hey, I am reading about these Wad Wizard choke systems teamed up with Hevi-Shot. Everyone says it really puts that smack down on the geese, that all sounds pretty good. But I am wondering if the pattern works too good? Does a combo like this destroy all the meat on the bird? Any of you Hevi-Shot users, do you find when you clean birds that a lot of the meat is destroyed compared to when you used steel?

I have experienced no excessive damage to my game at all from using this type of combination.

Brad,
Actually, I believe the opposite is true. In my opinion, you have more meat damage with steel shot. This is due to the fact you have to use larger shot to deliver adequate energy to the target. I have used Hevi-Shot for the past 3 or 4 seasons. When I am hunting geese, I use #6 or #4 shot. With steel shot, I was using BB or BBB to achieve adequate performance. I also find that Hevi-Shot usually lays the smack down on geese and ducks. Follow up shots to dispatch a wounded bird is a rare occurrence unlike steel shot. Choke tubes that retard the shot shell wad like the Wad Wizard shorten your shot string delivering consistent and deadly patterns. I hope this helps.

I have not really seen any major difference on meat damage to geese either. I have both the Wad Wizzard Supreme and a Wad Wizzard Swat and both chokes performed very well with Hevy Shot.
