would adding life size lessers into a spread with Life size, pro grade and shells be a good idea? Or would it be better to just stick with the pro grades?

Absoultely.... With mixing them in,The size diffrence is very realistic. The motion that the smaller lesser decoys on stakes produce is deadly. It would be a fine addition to your spread.

I agree with Chris. The addition of the new GHG Lessers to your spread will add realism. The added head positions and motion is a deadly combination. I added two dozen GHG Lessers to my spread this season and have had great results.

I have to agree as well. These Lesser GHG body styles were made to look so real. They truly look alive in the field and the motion and head flocking are an added bonus. I've got a dozen which carry easily in the 6-slot full size avery bag. They've worked for me this year.

Heronk...I was going to ask that...do you put them into the bag bottom to bottom?

I had 7 Lessers and 1 Richardson Canada land in my windsock spread Friday afternoon 10-15 ft. from my Finisher. Can't hunt em till mid January.. Talk about voluntary restraint.. :D

We hunt Texas and we have been adding more & more lessers to the spread. I like that they all move. You can get a whole dozen in a 6-slot bag & thats great also. Check out the specks ! We just got some & they look awsome ! I think maybe thats all I'll buy next year, with the exception of some lookers.

Monube- Do it. They will blend in perfectly, and the movement you get out of them is unreal. GREAT addition to anyones spread. The bulk of the decoys I order next year will be lessers.

Just ordered some last night...Cabelas is out of about every decoy at the KC store so I had to order..will miss out on a couple of weekends of use because of it but they should be great.

Got the bag for them so they are ready to hit the field when they come in.

Thanks to all that replied.

does anyone have the link to the comparison picture beteen the lifesize and the lessers? i hunted for it but i could not find it. I was curious because we do not have lessers over here but we do run into juvenile geese. and i just wanted to see a size comparison. Becuause i am just starting to build a flock.

Monube,

Here is a link to a thread on a different forum on this MB with some info you might find helpful.

Adding Lessers to an existing Life-Size Canada rig (http://www.averyoutdoors.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=002522)

Ross R,

And here is the link with comparison photos by Curt Wilson. Go to the second page of the post to view them.

Thanks those pictures helped. Would you guys recomend adding lessers to our flock? even though we do not have any lessers in our area. I was thinking of adding them for motion and because they might resemble the younger geese that we run into from time to time.

Ross- Lessers or not in your area, yes, I would say add them. One, it makes your spread different from the neighboring field. Two, they require less air to move. Three, they take up less space and are easier to carry out. They make a great addition to any spread, anywhere.

Ross,

We don't have lessers in our area, but I added two dozen GHG Lessers to my rig. The new GHG Lessers are about 5% over sized of a lesser. They are life size for the Atlantic Population geese we shoot. Mark also made some great points. The GHG Lessers take less air movement to add motion to your spread. They take up less room, if space is an issue when transporting. The mix of sizes of decoys in my spread adds realism to my spread. Any advantage I can have over the neighboring field will only enhance my chancs for success. We routinely shoot geese that weigh between 3-13 lbs. We have a good mixture of resident birds and migratory birds through out the state. I hope this helps.
