I hunted snows for the first time this past weekend and know very little about hunting for them. Typically I hunt ducks and canadas.

Is there a way to set up for canadas and snows in the same spread. The guy I hunted with said that canadas will not fly over snows and vice versa. We put out about 250 snow decoys and then 5 doz canada fbs and silos out to our right front, but tied into the snows. This didn't seem to work very well for either species. Only thing that came in was a couple single immature snows. Canadas kept looking, but then going into some other hunters in the field next to us, they only had 2 doz shells and then a few ducks and a mojo duck out.

You can try seperating the 2 species alittle more, side by side and maybe put your groundblinds in the middle?
Once the snows get thick down here, we put out ragspreads using 800-1000 windsocks and some shells, but will use only 6 or so speck fullbodies off to one side of the spread. That is normally all it takes as they are attracted to the big white spread and once close enough to see the speck decoys, they try to land on them.

I have seen dark geese fly with snows, but generally they will not mix much at all once on the ground feeding, they like to stay with their own.
Dont be affraid to mix it up, try to add more canadas or snows, or take away some, to see what the birds want.
