What will you do now that the season is over? Fish? trap shoot? sports?

I've got a few things in mind... Work, play baseball, and bass fish! Maybe hunt some coyotes if I can figure it out.

Spring goose season, archery turkey, walleye fishing, sporting clays, and work on blinds, decoys, calls, and new ideas for next season. Oh yeah... don't forget the honey-do list!

Brett- Coyote hunting has been poor this year. Lack of snow makes them harder to see, and hard to call. Generally though, there isnt much to figure out. Nothing a flat shooting rifle like a .223, 22-250, or 6mm can't fix.
Snow geese will be coming back through soon, and I may be calling for a guy who drew a turkey permit, as I didnt get my application in on time.

Coaching high school baseball, playing softball, working on my calling, rigging decoys, cleaning decoys, training dogs, scouting spots for the fall (spots we found this year, but never really got to hunt, and I am always looking for new spots), spring turkey season, trying to knock few things off the Honey-Do list, and spending time with my new wife!!!

I should have a pretty busy off season.

Every year it seems like goose season goes right on thru the year with all the work that is involved securing land fixing stuff build new projects etc.
But in my off time I like to fish and shoot prairie dogs. This year I am trying to perfect my bow skills to shoot them with a bow. That would be a riot been out a couple times but them buggers are HARD to hit!! :D

Well today was it for us in VA, but the season really ended for me last Saturday, and we ended it with a great shoot.
Now for what I'll do in the "off season"? Go through the motions and try to keep the depression pills handy. Actually it will be work, work and more work. Mostly bussiness, but also personal (got to get the garage done for the boat!) improve on calling, train the dog, scout new spots, work on food plots and the farm, spend some QT with the family, and hopefully get an appointment with Tom Foolery in April. All season long I make notes of what I want to change in the off season- blinds, boat layout, decoy rigs, etc., etc. and by the time it all gets done hopefully it will be resident season again!
Looking back on the past season though it was my personal finest to date. I feel very blessed to live in a free country that I can persue wild game, and enjoy many of God's creations at the same time. We made a lot more memories, bonded with old friends, and made new ones. This was my first full season being a Pro-Staff member and I could not be more thankful that this awesome company let me be a part of it all. Everybody has been top notch and a pleasure to be associated with. I look forward to a long venture, and doing my part to keep us at the top. I have learned 10 times over what I knew a year ago, and thats what it's all about, never be content.
Well enough rambling- I guess I forgot one thing, I will be on the MB's as much as possible talking about hunting! Hope you all had a great season, and oh yea, I was kidding about the pills.

I agree Paul. I am also very thankful to be asked to represent Avery as a member of their pro staff.

It has been a great year and have made new friends as well.
Thanks Tom, Rob and Rusty for everything!

I look forward to a great 05!

I echo Pauls comments on being a Pro-Staffer. I hope I can help out how ever I can. I'm honored to be part of this family.

As for what's next, I'll begin paying back my wife for all of those times she let me hunt "just a couple more hours" or letting me go away with the hunting-boys for the weekend. Beyond that spring snow goose season has hit high gear, remodling our kitchen and fishing walleye tournements with my father come to mind. But like Chris stated above, for us, waterfowl season truley never ends. As soon as I see the new full body mallard and snow decs I'll be designing stakes for the river and tinkering with the other decs and blind.

It is a vicious cycle for me! I go from waterfowl to archery hunting, to rifle (deer) hunting(all mixed with geese and ducks), then to coyote hunting and ice fishing. Now I am getting the boat ready for open water fishing, looking forward to a lake Erie trip this April, 3 walleye tounaments plus just fishing for fun until around August. Then I start scouting for new places to hang a few deer stands. September brings early goose hunting....WOW! The cycle is starting again!!

Holy moly, no wonder I am always so broke!

Money,
I will be spending money on the off-season to get ready for when the season gets back around. It never ends you spend money during the season and money on the off season. Maybe thats why we like it so much. I will work all the time got a lot of new things coming to the spread for the up coming season. Maybe work will make it go faster!
