I have decided that next year I am going to be purchasing 6 or 12 lesser canada goose decoys. Since GHG doesnt have any out yet, Im looking to get the best possible. I would like to get the DSD except for the price of them. Its $70 more per 6 than the HC's, and the HC's look pretty much the same. What is everyones opinon on this? Would you go with the extra money for the DSD or save a little and go for the HC's?
Thanks

Brett,
Both companies make nice decoys, but I would wait for the GHG Lessers. ;)

Brett... I believe what Rusty was getting at is the Lessers are on the dockette for this year. There had been some talk of them last season, but that did not materialize. In addition to some other posts regarding Lessers, Chad Belding posted the following around mid December: You will see the lessers out on the market in 2005. They are going to be life size and they are the real deal. They are currently being carved and we should have a prototype shortly. We will keep everyone informed of any details that come about.
I believe Rick had also commented that these would be out for the next season if I'm not mistaken.

Go with the DSD hell you got to baby the GHG you might as well baby a custome that looks better.I was hoping GHg would fix the bases this year but from what i understand they are going to leave them the same so i am going with all DSD for my spread ;)

grenhdkilr,
While I disagree with your overall assessment of the GHG Full Body Canadas, I know that the DSD is a very good looking decoy also and I am sure you will be happy with your decision.
Thanks for adding your input to the discussion.

One thing that I have found that sets apart DSD from the others is the coloring. DSD are not released from the shop unless they match the exact coloring of the cackler feathers. The HC seem to much like a honker in their coloring. But if GHG comes out with a nice lesser that would be a very high choice for me.
Thanks

Brett,
My only advice is to wait a few months. You still have several months before you are gunning geese. I think everybody will be pleasantly surprised. :D

Hey rusty i am going to wait a few months to see the changes i own GHG now but wasnt happy with the way the bases held up no slam to the deke i think they are the best for the money but if i am going to half to call julie at the end of every year to replace broken parts i would rather pay the extra money for customs.I hope you guys do some changes to the bases like a rubber or a softer plastic so there is a little more give to them and they wont brake so easy.
