The board should have a place where you can share diagrams and setups, you could scan them and post them up.

Darn Mike you must of been bitten bad. Anytime you want to B.S. let me know my email is nocalhonker@yahoo.com
There are tons of patterns x,u,j, the list goes on. The main thing is give them a place to land a nice open area. I like to leave open lanes that the geese can fly through low into the wind and not go over dekes and give a good shooting zone. I feel this works good on late locals. They will give you a lower look this way generally, then if they have to go over dekes at least a fair amount of dekes. I use family groups of 4 to 10. I try to paint a picture of a live flock. Family groups spread out feeding a couple of dekes in the whole and a couple walking into the dekes. You would be amazed at how tweeking the dekes ever so slightly can move the birds were you want. So patterns work but you don't need to use them and on late geese with heavy pressure they might hurt you if many hunters are running the same patterns. The birds we are dealing with are small groups and generally local a few migrators depending on the year. Change your look and location in the field if your running traffic on locals. Much more can be written just some stuf off the top. Nocalhonker
