Hey Tom,
Thanks for the images of the new decoys. What an impressive lineup. They look great. The detail and coloration look so realistic I'm certain they'll help bring the birds in real tight.

From the pictures ad video coming from Manitoba right now, "close" does not see to be a problem. I'm lookiing forward to seeing what they will do in January.

Tom,
Kelley showed me the new decoys. They looked great and even worked better. I really like the concept of the removable keel. It's like having two decoys in one.
During a field hunt, some ducks lit in the decoys. I turned away to watch some other birds and then had a hard time picking out the live birds in the spread. It was a hoot!

I'm glad you had a chance to see them and hunt over them. Keep in mind that the ones you saw are from the original molds which have all been replaced by now. The newer versions have much more feather detail, more substantial/durable paint and weigh 25% more per unit.
Did you get a chance to snap any good photos?

The hunting was great, but the lighting and conditions for still photogaphy were poor. I worked with what I had and shot several rolls of slides on decoys, blinds, hunters and hero shots. They're being developed now, so I'll know what the finished product looks like in the next couple of days.

Great - I hope you get some good ones. Let us know.
Tom,
Are the new style decoys easy to tell apart from the old ones? I am planning on purchasing about 5 dozen of them and want to make sure they are the new ones. Also, are your decoys the ones that Mack's sells? If so, do they have the new ones yet? Thanks.

DJ,
The new molded decoys will be starting to ship within two weeks from our warehouse, and Mack's and Bass Pro will both have them at some point during the season. The best way to tell the difference is that the newer decoys have much deeper ridges on the sides and the new decoys weigh about 20% more tha the old ones. Also, the keels in the new decoys have a dime-sized flat area on the front bottom of the keels where the decoy line is attached.
I wish I could tell you when these decoys would get into the market completely, but I just can't because we don't have any idea which retailers sell first in/first out or first in/last out, etc.
Sorry for the incomplete answer, but it's the best one I have. Thanks for considering the decoys.

Tom has had business associates in town developing some great new things for the future and has asked us to pitch in a get back with you regarding your decoy problem.
Simply send us an email to averyinfo@averyoutdoors.com and put "Decoy Problem" in the subject line. Please make sure that you include where you purchased the decoys and let us know the specifics about the problem (i.e. "Where is it chipping?", etc.).
Once we receive the email, we will contact you and provide you with a response specific to your situation.
Anyway, we look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks and have a great day!
