Although, not without a few low spots, my season was very good and in fact is still continuing. Canada hunting in the Resident Zone of Maryland runs throught mid-February...I will get after them one day this week... Tiny & I are trying to put a snow goose hunt together before the season closes.

Several highlights to mention...shooting ducks in Manitoba from Finishers in a dry field(awesome!)...shooting my first Speck over Greenhead Gear SPG decoys in Arkansas(cool!)...starting and renewing friendships...shooting Canada Geese on Maryland's Eastern Shore(again!)*.

(*In my travels in the Mississippi Flyway this year I was surprised to find out that many of the people I talked with were unaware of the 6-year moratorium on Migratory Canada Geese in the Atlantic Flyway. For a better understanding of the impact of that action, imagine if they closed the Miss. Flyway to duck hunting for 6 years!!)

Spring turkey is just around the corner...waterfowl a mere 8 months away...all the Avery Pro-Staffers are hard at work helping to develop and test new products for the upcoming 2003 season.

JEDJR...If your past season was half a fun as mine than you definately had a good one!Good luck in the Turkey woods!! smile.gif

my season was as good as any i have had yet... here in michigan my buddies and i did very well on geese and not so bad on ducks...we probably killed around 350 geese and half that in ducks...not bad considering all the hunting pressure around here......i also got to hunt in many different states this year from Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, etc. guiding and just hunting for fun...i guide in Wisconsin for about 4 days and this year my hunters killed 67 geese in those few days.. it was a good time and the country is prime goose slammin'....i had several good shoots in Illinois with some friends of mine, most days we shot our limit of geese and ducks as well...the best day i had over there was with Kelley Powers for the Cystic Fibrosis open...we shot 18 geese and 14 mallards in a private cornfield......and that about sums it up for the bird hunting, ... just finished out our late season here in Michigan last suday,,, all done till' turkey time........shot a couple nice bucks during deer season, the biggest had a 20" spreak and a score of 140...MY BIGGEST!!!.......many birds to kill and deer to miss...?..."talk the talk"

My highlight of the season was 8 of us pro staffers and reps picking up 300 some odd decoy's at our camps this year..just kidding! While this was going on the ducks had arrived in full force, finally! Didn't help that the season was closed but it was great to see thousands of ducks circling fields that we were in picking up. Awesome!! If you had taken a pole of the guy's I was picking up deks with ( Travis, Tom, Todd, Eric ), it would of probably went like this!
" NOW THEY GET HERE!?"
Texas was good on geese ( canadas ) early ...real good hunts.. ducks were ok!
Arkansas was slow to say the least except for a few good hunt's here and there ( Thank's Rob )
Had real good day at our reservoir in Stuttgart too ( thanks Tom and Buddy ).
Hunting with Travis and our dad's was real fun too..good day for decoying duck's out of Power Hunters!! " HERE COMES SOME DUCK"S!!!!"
Thank's to everybody who helped out at the camps this year..you know who you are!!
