I was watching the news last night and the Red Neck Run in Ohio got a little air time. I wondered if any of the Zink Crew were part of this event?

According to the news it is an outdoor country music concert/fest where they have everyone behind a gate then they open up the gates and you run for your spot on the grass for the concert. The taking off from the gate to your spot has become the redneck run. Sounds like a great time to me.

The event Brett is referring to is "Jamboree in the Hills", a huge 4 day country music festival. I attended about 5 years ago, and I haven't been the same since :D It is held in a large, natural outdoor ampitheatre, and when the gates open, everyone trys to get a spot right in front of the stage. You can imagine the rest...

it is a red neck woodstock. great acts, a lot of beer, and a lot of women looking to drink beer for free. i have seen things there that i didn't think humans did.

We had a great plan of attack. Once the gate opened Field and myself would trip up everyone around us and Freddie would sprint to the Honey Hole. Boy can he run!!!!!!!!!!

The year I was there, I was the runner for our group one day, (younger, skinnier, and running 5-6 miles a day back then). A guy went down in front of me and I made a split second decision rather than swerve and cause a heck of a pile-up, I would hurdle the guy. Unfortunately for him, he tried to get back up with me in mid-hurdle over him and the side of his head and my knee had an untimely meeting  The end resultfor him I'll never know; he went down like a sack of spuds. I was able to stay on my feet still motoring and got a great spot. To touch on what Brian said...lots of debauchery, but a great time...especially if you are single!
