I’ve used plastic corn ears from Cabela’s for many years. These are a light yellow “fake” lure; I’m not sure if they ever drew birds or were a hindrance. With the FFD Elites I purchased from Cabela’s last year I was given a few of the GHG molded polyethylene field corn ears. This stuff really looks like an ear of corn, “bait”. Has anybody had any positive or negative results with these products? Or do you think it is more useless baggage to haul-in and out; stumble to find each evening after dusk or worse yet lose in a snow storm?

The Corn ears are illegal to use here in Pennsylvania.
Anything that could resemble food is a no-no.
Even fake grass, such as indoor outdoor carpet isnt allowed.

Gooseman from PA is correct. You have to check with local laws to make sure it can be used as they do vary from state to state. I have used them in a few situations last season and its tough to say it helped or it didnt. All I know is that on those days when everything seems perfect but nothing is working I want every legal and ethical trick in the book to have success. Just a note: the FFD's are new for this season, you would have received the corn in last years hunter series dekes. If you love the hunters series wait till you see the FFD's. I recently attended an Avery product training and we placed the hunters series out in the sun first and noticed how real they looked, then placed the fully flocked deke out and WOW! I thought the decoy was going to start picking grass off the lawn!

Brad; got my FFD's with the field corn last year from Cabela's. They supposedly had limited quantity. I put the actives and feeders on motion stakes. These decoys truly fooled the wary Canada’s in my area!!
