If you have a small spread, say 15 or less . how many caller/greeter dekes would you use? How far apart would you spread them? Would you put them right next to the blinds?

Bob,
I personally would not go with more then three or four. As an example of the ratio that works for me. I run roughly a dozen per 18 dozen decoys. With a spread the size of yours, I would set small family groups of 2 to 6 birds and add a looker or (maybe) two to each group.(Be a looker a active or two and a couple feeders) I run a very loose spread, sometimes 30 to 40 feet between decoys. So I would say a good start would be 10 to 20 feet between decoys and 40 to 50 feet between groups. The reason behind this and that is, I feel that content geese draw content geese. If you have a "alarmed" look to your spread, they the geese will be cautious on their approach.
When using the field blinds, I always try to set up to where the birds are not landing in my face. I set the decoys up according to the wind, finish the birds into a right to left sort of approach. This provided good shots for the group to best take advantage of the flock. but ,most important is so as the geese approach, are looking at all decoys as they finish and not directly at the blinds. If there is a possiblity of hunt the edge of the field I would highly recommend that, especially as the season wears on. Worst case and you have to set up in the middle of a field then I still use the same setup but I shoot the birds as they finish from the side and not right in my face. The blinds in this situation are very well camoed. Sometimes, we go as far as hauling truckloads of tumbleweeds out in the middle to simulate a sort of "island" that hides the blinds. This is very effective.
If I were to put blinds with in the decoys. I would use the later method that I described and do the best job you can to make them disappear.
Hope this helps to answer a couple of your questions, Appeciate you taking the time to ask them. The answers you recieve will definitly help you this fall. GOOD LUCK!
