Oneshot,
Right now ive been baking my powerhunter blind in the sun for about 1 1/2 months now, its in my backyard on the ground in the rain, sun and usually just sun. The sun has really put a nice fade to it....i dont like the new Max-4 camo i think its to dark so im fading it out, then in a month or two i am going to cover the whole thing with a thick layer of mud. You can let the mud dry and leave it on our just brush it off after it drys.If you plan on hunting in grain fields and you dont mud your blind you might as well stay home because it will stick out like crazy. Cover the whole thing, the more mud the BETTER! Zach

OneShotWill :

When you mud a blind, you should cover the entire blind. Mix yourself up some dirt/water in 5 gallon pail until to get a nice "paint" mixture. What I do, is i get one of those 4 or 5 inch throw away paint brushes and start painting the mud on the blind. Allow the mud to dry for a couple days. Then, I will go over it and rub the dried residue into the cordura. This helps to reduce the shine and retaine the mud effect. Like all equpiment and gear, upkeep and maintence is needed so a re-mud or touch-up may be needed later in the season.

Hope this helps.

Another thing that you can use to spread the mud on the blind is a car wash mit... You should be able to find one of these at a local auto parts store. This will make it very quick and easy to spread the mud on your blinds at home or out in the field.

Will I agree with the prior posts although I do have some concern with Zach leaving his blind to the elements for an extended period of time. As durable as the fabric that is used is, leaving it to the elemnents for that long can effect the life of the material. As the others said "paint" the whole blind, I leave it to dry a least 24 hrs and then simply brush off the excess and leave the nice glare free blind. And dont listen to what your mom said, playing in the mud is pefectly ok!
