I am a Sophmore in college and am pursing a major in PE and plan to be a coach and a teacher. I am just looking for any other coaches teachers, or PE majors out thier to see what kind of jobs they have and how they handle hunting as well.

Hey man I am not a coach or teacher but my dad was a PE teacher and a girls basketball coach for 22 years. Now he is a principal. And you could think he would get to hunt more as a coach then a principal, NOPE. He didnt get to hunt as much when he coached basketball because of the practices on the weekends and having to work at school during the week and practices after school. But if your going into being a baseball coach then you should be fine. But as a principal he gets to hunt all the weekends, and some days after school if he wants. Hope this helps.
Well, I've been teaching for four years now *I'm 25* and hunt almost everyday. I may have to take a few days off for a concert or such, but that's about it! You just have to make sure that when they hire you, you tell them flat out what the deal is, and that you love to hunt. Most times, well all of the admins that I've had have been very supportive. Hell, I even had one that used to go with me! But yes, I still help coach basketball, announce all home games, have concerts, do all that fun stuff, my kids really get into it too..they try to find places to hunt for us and we go out to whack some. Taking kids who have never been hunting before does TONS of good things! Plus, introduces a new hunter to the world! So, don't let that scare ya off! And yes, sometimes, you have to *COUGH COUGH* be sick! Hell, my principal calls me before anyone else if school is delayed/cancelled so I can get up and go hunting. GOTTA LOVE IT!`

Hest is right. You sometimes have to get sick, but most of the time it's pretty cool. Coaching has gotten in the way of my hunting more than the teaching part has. I just hate to miss practice. Luckily, I don't coach in the winter, so I don't miss much waterfowling during football season here...just part of the early woody/teal season.

I'm also a PE and health major. Was wondering the same thing. I am a junior right now.
