I will be getting a field blind this year. Right now I am debating whether to get a Khaki Power hunter or finisher.
Would the finisher be worth the extra cost? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
Thanks in advance.

The Finisher is the more "COMPLETE'' Groundblind, taking nothing away from the Powerhunter.
The Finisher can be used in more situations with the aide of a Neo tub, that can help you hunt and conceal yourself in just about any situation you will come across.

Carp,
Jed is right in the aspect of the Finisher, it is a great all around blind. The Power Hunters Largest asset is it's low profile producing deadly concealment. I spend the most time in my finisher, but you will not be disappointed in either way you decide to go. Let's us know which way you go. Good Luck this season.

All the blinds have their ideal situations. For flat fields and ease of calling I like the Power Hunters. For a little more comfort and in snow I like the Finisher. When I need more room inside the blind for gear, especially when the neotube is needed I would rather have the migrator. Because I never know where I am at I own several of all 3 of them.

I have a Finisher and it works great for the hunting that I do. I have the Maxx-4 camo. but you really cant tell after it has been mudded and brushed properly. It is simple to assemble in the field. I like the finisher for the flag-holes and I can have all my gear(shells,bag,gun,ect..) close to me.It aslo keeps you out of the weather.
I only use my Power Hunter when there is not much cover and low profile is a have-to.

I love both blinds, but the Finisher just fits our needs better where we hunt. That power hunter is really nice though during those hot early season sept goose hunts.

The type of hunting and terrain usually dictate whether I will be in a Finisher or a PowerHunter. The majority of the time I am in the Finisher, it is my favorite by far. If you have to walk in or cover is sparse, the PowerHunter is the ticket.

Cory,
If you are going to hunt in standing water as well as field hunting, then the best all around Avery Layout Blind is the Finisher. You can add a Avery NeoTub to allow you to hunt in sheet water up to 8". The Finisher will also provide you more protection from the elements.
The blind I use 90% of the time is the Power Hunter. The power Hunter weighs 11 lbs., sets up in seconds, and folds up into a compact package. A stored Power Hunter takes up very little space in your trailer or truck. I also like the field of view that a Power Hunter affords me. WHich ever blind you choose, you will have a great blind that will give you years of service.

Which blind would work best for a 6' 2", 225 lb., chlosterphobic goose hunter that brings a blind bag, a thermos, gun, heavy coat (spare), a small heater, shells, calls and food and hates to be uncomfortable or confined? At times, there is also a 80 lb. lab along.

Frank,
You can test drive the Finisher in a few weeks... :D

Carp - Its so much personal preference. I use both, but by far I use my Powerhunter more. I like the lower profile, and the ease of transporting it. If I am in small grain, its my Powerhunter no matter what, just for the lower profile. If its late season, my Finisher with a neotub for added wind blockage.

Frank; I’m 5’9’’, 185lb’s or so and have a ton of room in the Avery “Migrator” blind. My initial choice was a Finisher but at the time I purchased the blind Cabela’s was out of Finishers. I do not own a Finisher but recently offered an opinion to a friend to purchase the blind through Mack’s, he did and is totally satisfied. He got the Finisher layout blind, (in Field Khaki), with a Zink “Power Maximus” polycarbonate goose call, an Avery “Finisher” blind bag, and a Foiles Retractor Flag all for $199.99. A wish I had a deal like this two years ago when Cabela’s inadequate allotment put me into a Migrator!!

I feel that it depends on what type of field that you are hunting. If you are hunting a corn field with tall stalks or a wheat field I would go with a finisher. If you are hunting a field with little cover and want a lower profile I would go with a power hunter. I prefer the field khaki for the coloring mixed with some killer weed for either of the ground blinds.

While of course the powerhunter gives you the ''lower profile'', you do need to take in consideration the field conditions of the area you are hunting.
The powerhunter IMO, Is a dryfield blind, while having an optimum low profile, It gives you very little protection against wet conditions.
So take everything into consideration(the area you plan to hunt) when you decide on the blind you are looking for.
Either way, Between the Powerhunter, Finisher or Migrator, Avery has you ''covered''!!

I love my finisher! Its warm, and produces results day in and day out. Now the Power Hunter (not to sound like a broken record) will be ideal for fields with little to no cover. Thank you for your support and intrest in Avery!
