While your driving to your hunting spot what gets you awake or pumped up? Me and my buddy lance always turn up the tunes HIGH voltage in my truck while waiting in line at our local wetlands. Pisses people off sometimes but gets us pumped hahaha. We got this new CD were making with all the songs that pump us up. We get pretty excited when we get a kick @$$ spot so we gotta turn up the jams haha. :D

Waking up at 3 am and hearing light rain hitting the window will do it for me...or the sound of a howling north wind with snow in the forecast. I just love to hear the weatherman say "brutal cold headed for the midwest"...im in wisconsin, east central wisconsin, it aint duckin if it aint cold. I like to have 1/2 an inch of ice layering my waders...those are the days that shooting a big drake mallard makes you feel like you've accomplished something. Sitting in the blind in the dark and hearing the distanct calls of hen mallards gets my blood pumping. Even better is the wistling wings as the sun rises. I guess from the time i get up, there isn't much that doesn't get me pumped up for duck or goose hunting.
I also think that anyone who is a true hunter would agree with everything i have said....who wouldnt wanna go diver hunting in 5 deegree weather???A wind chill of negative 8...those are the days i love...

I find that when I start to fall asleep while driving, and my head hits the steering wheel, I wake right up! Either that or my dog licking me in the side of the face from the back seat usually wakes me up also. :D

The hunt. Thats what gets me awake and keeps me there. No alarm clocks, I set my mind for what time I want to wake up and I get up everytime. Its not hard for me at all.

Yea, Thats true.. I'll wakeup about 3-5 mins before it go's off. But what gets me awake the most is falling into one of the 2 foot holes that pepper the wetlands that I hunt. When your decoys fall on top of you and your gun goes off because of some dumb hole in the ground, that'll wake you up..... Ok so my gun never went off but the decoys falling on me is true. I'd like to never got up. But atleast I was awake and alert when the next hole came around.. hehehe. ..

Ok guys its crazy but get this. I dont have to use an alarm clock AT ALL when I know I am going hunting the next morning. And frankly why would I when I cant get any damn sleep because im so excited for the next morning. And If I am asleep I always wake up about 30 minutes before I needed to because my dog is already lickin my face or slappin me with his paw cause he knows when I lay out my camo and gun, WERE HUNTING! smile.gif

I agree with JEDJR. Just the hunt and the anticipation of what the day will bring..

Im with widgnwhacker on this one. :D
I crank up some Skynyrd:
"On the Hunt"
Play it over and over, kinda get some wierd looks at the ramp, but whatever gets you going
I have been doing this for along time , friends have just earned to accept this if they ride with me. No talking just jamming .

The thought of the hunt gets me fired up. But one of my frequent hunting partners and fellow Pro-Staffer Rob Jepson listens to his Twisted Sister greatest hits tape to get fired up in the morning. It makes for a long ride in the morning.

Now Rusty, please don't mislead any of the members of this message board. I can't get any of my CD's near the player as you insist on playing the soundtrack from the movie based on your life..."A Mighty Wind"!
Good luck tomorrow! Take lots of pictures!

I find it funny on days I go hunting I am up befor ethe alarm clock ever sounds, the days I have to work, I hit the snooze SEVERAL times!!
In Canada last year it was Eminem or Kidd Rock blaring while we set up, at home its usually David Allen Coe or Ol Merle Haaggard.
Some of the songs that I would put on that CD...
"Gimme back my Bullets"!
"T-N-T"
"Dirty Deeds"
"Strut"
"Turn The Page"
Thats a cool idea :D

What gets me up, I can not fall asleep most of the time :D We can go out and kill 20 honks and the next day i will be so pumped and eager it will drive me nuts. Im as excited as a bus load of fat women headed to a Ricky Martin concert when it comes to huntin.
