I prefer the H type because it fits over the head for storage and it finds it`s own depth.8 oz for standard duck,12 oz for oversize or mags duck and 16 0z for goose floaters. What type of decoy anchors will avery be stocking for 04?

I really like the ace anchor system. The mushroom style is excellant as well. I just wish they came with shorter shafts so they don't break. I know I should or could make my own......but I'm just lazy on that part.....lmao. :D

Hey bd,

The Greenhead Gear product line offers 5 oz. Strap-Style weights and 6 oz. Mushroom weights.

Do you think anyone makes a weight that will go over GHG goose floaters head? None of mine will. I do like the mushroom weights for the ducks, just do not have them heavy enough for the geese...

I have used the mushroom style straps on large decoys and on windy days, sometime they need assistance. An inexpensive quick fix that you can do even on the water is that when you get a "drifter" just add a large steel nut to the decoy line right at the beginning of the lead mushroom strap. It does not interfere with winding the decoy up and putting the strap around the head and it gives you the added weight to keep the decoy in place. Sometime, it is tough to hold them on sand flats with strong winds. But to a diver hunter, that is when you want to be out!

I solely use the strap style. You can buy the ones that have a hole in each end...cut them with a pair of scissors or whatever, make two, and I've found that to be plenty for any decoy in any condition. Then wrap them in a figure 8 over the back and under the butt, wrap around the neck and clamp her down.
