Ratio of feeders

What is the ratio of feeders to sentrys? 3 feeders to every 1 sentry? Thanks

Brett, I think it is a personal preference. I tend to look at geese in my area, most of them are in the sentry postion. so I use more sentrys and less feeders.I am sure you will get different answers as I have heard that alot of sentrys looks like a scared flock and is a warning sign. Dont be affraid to try different things, and see what works best for you.

Next time you are scouting, LOOK and COUNT yourself... try and come close to that. There is no set number for sure, but watching the birds you are hunting will help you know a good ratio.

Mark, good response. Do exactly what the geese you are going to hunt are doing. You want to mimic those exact same birds.

I have 120 fullbodys and only have three sentry when the birds are feeling real secure in an area they don't tend to look around too much. If you want the geese to commit to your spread try a flag and also try the flapper by hidgon decoys they are really effective the more the movement in the decoy spread the better the chances the geese are going to get closer to you.
