On 8-14-2005 Avery Pro-Staffer Kevin Addy fished a buddy tournament on Lake Saratoga, in Saratoga New York. This was the last event for the ABA of eastern Pennsylvania, and New Jersey circuit. The top 20 teams in the points standing would make the Classic on the Hudson River out of Catskill, New York. There were 6 qualifying events and Kevin was only able to fish 4 of them, so a high finish on Saratoga was needed and with a little luck it would get him into the classic. Kevin practiced on 8/12 and 8/13 and located a few concentrations of Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass on outside weed lines in 8-15 feet of water. Kevin had 10 waypoints in his boats GPS ready to go for Sunday morning 8/14. Kevin and his partner John Graves, caught 25+ fish on an array of baits, Top water, Craw tubes with Grass Stalker heads, Zoom Lizards and Senkos. Their best 8 fish weighed 16.22 which was good enough for 3rd place. First place was 8 fish for 17.70. Kevin and his partner John Graves qualified for the classic in the 19th spot and will be fishing the Hudson River on 9/24 and 9/25. This was a great finish to a birthday weekend for Kevin who celebrated his birthday on 8-13-2005.
Happy Birthday Kevin, and Congrats on your finish!
