Avery Pro-Staffers Shine at 2005 World Goose Calling Contest!

Recently the 2005 World Goose Calling Contest was held in Easton, MD. There were 5 other contests that were also held. Junior Mason-Dixon Regional Duck, Junior World Goose, Senior Mason-Dixon Regional Duck, World Live Duck and the World Goose Champion of Champions which is held once every five years!

The preliminaries for all the contests got under way Friday afternoon and ran late into the night. The fields had then been reduced to the top 5 contestants in each contest.

Avery Outdoors would like to extend kudos to Sean Mann, contest volunteers and the Avery Pro-Staff for keeping the program organized and having everything run so smoothly.

On Saturday night things were much the same with Avery Pro-Staffer Allan Stanley's son Jacob winning the Junior Mason-Dixon Regional Duck and placing third in the Junior World Goose. Jacob has been competing on the contest stage for several years now and follows in the Stanley Family line of talent, which also includes his brother Bonce and his father Allan.

The next Avery Pro-Staffer to shine that evening was John Taylor who won the World Goose Calling Champion of Champions contest. This event is held every five years and establishes the "Best of the Best" by inviting all past World Goose Calling Champions to go toe to toe against one another!

The winner of this contest is crowned and then officially retired from the World Goose Calling Contest. John competed against World Class Callers, Tim Grounds,Josh Neuwiller and Tim Covey. But when it was all over John Taylor stood alone as the new Champion of Champions!
