Avery Pro-Staff Members are involved with not only Avery Outdoors but also a number of other aspects relating to waterfowl hunting. One of our Avery Pro-Staffers, Bob "Chappy" Chaplin, is also the operations manager of a waterfowling web-site Ohio Waterfowler (http://www.ohiowaterfowler.com)

On Sunday August 21, 2005 at Mosquito State Park in Northeast Ohio, Ohiowatefowler.com hosted its 2nd annual outdoors show called Layout University 2. This event began last year by a member of the web-site for the sole purpose of getting more people into layout hunting as well as the pumpkin seed boats that are used. This year, though they extended it to not only water but field hunting as well.

The event included several vendors and manufacturers of outdoor products as well some of their pro-staff on hand in addition to call makers and the Ohio Division of Wildlife. One of the goals of Layout University 2 is that the public receive as much information as possible about layout hunting and that was accomplished and then some.

Avery Pro-Staff Members Fred Zink, Field Hudnall, Clay Hudnall, John Beckwith, and Tom Greenwood were all there to give seminars and show all the products that Avery has. "This was only our second year of doing this event, but I can tell you now that next year will be bigger and better," said Avery Pro-Staff Member Bob Chaplin.

"All those involved with the web-site worked their tails off to make this happen and I'm sure, with the dedicated group we have, this will just keep growing," stated the owner and creator of the web-site Captain Mark Budnick.
Who knows what Layout University will grow into but I can tell you this year's attendance was already more than anyone could have hoped for. Interest is already beginning for the anticipated Layout University 3 and Avery looks forward to having the same great representation as we had this year.
