I've heard both bluebird days and the worse weather the better, which is correct??

I've always heard clear days yielded best results when hunting flooded timber.

Usually I have the best luck in the timber on clear sunny days with some wind but the best day I ever had in the timber was on a day when the water was beginning to freeze and it was sleeting like crazy. I have never seen ducks pour into timber like they did that day.

Usually sunny days are better but I have had some real good days on cloudy and rainy ones also.

my best Timber hunt ever was in a torential down pour. everything was soaked to the bone. and the ducks were just pouring in. it was as fast as you could load your gun. but my more consistant days are bluebird days after a front. with a nice heavy breeze.

Dont get to do much timber hunting, but everyone always says mallards go to the trees on bluebird days!

Bluebird days preferably during full moon's with a light wind of 5 - 10 mph. I've also found that if you are hunting a greentree reservoir adjacent to a river you want the river to be falling or within its banks, but if you are hunting floodwater from the river, you want it rising or stable.

Bluebird days are good days to be out there in the woods. But I have had some awesome hunts on overcast days. The best yet has been cold, overcast and sleeting like hell. 3 guys, 12 mallard drakes, 20 minutes

We always seem to have the best luck on bluebird days

I agree with Kevin....Cold, Sunshiny days are better for the trees IMO. Now, there have been a couple hunts this year where I havn't killed a thing on a clear day and then next day its cloudy and they are working the trees....it didn't make sense to me. The birds can see your spread a lot easier on clear days, and I think they feel safer because they can see further when they are in the timber on clear days. Cloudy days, stick to the fields!!
