Avery Pro-Staffers Shine at the SYC Ohio ShootOut 2006
Avery Pro-Staffers Mike Bard of New York, Dave Weidner of New Jersey, Bob "Chappy" Chaplin, and Jeff House both of Ohio, were in attendance.
The Ohio Chapter of the SYC hosted it's 2nd annual SYC ShootOut January 14th and 15th, 2006. The event kicked off Saturday morning with a goose hunting competition, where teams made up of 4 hunters each were randomly assigned a field to hunt and a spotter/SYC official. Teams had until noon to hunt and received points for birds harvested and shooting accuracy. Avery Pro-Staffers Mike Bard of NY and Dave Weidner of NJ participated on teams in the event. At 2pm a $1000 to win goose calling contest went down where Zink and Avery Pro-Staffer, Jeff House, competed and placed 2nd. At 5pm the SYC hosted a banquet, much like a DU banquet with several raffles and auctions. Throughout the event, Avery Pro-Staffer and SYC volunteer Bob "Chappy" Chaplin followed the teams and callers, photographing the days activities. Sunday morning teams returned to the field with SYC volunteers for a fun hunt. Avery Pro-Staffers Mike Bard and Chappy, hooked up with SYC volunteer and wildlife artist, Dick Benson, for the mornings fun hunt. The SYC did a great job running the event and it was very successful in raising money for the organization's kids.
