A few pics from the weekend of 1/5 -1/7

Thursday morning my brother and I hit a horse pasture in southern Maryland for two quick geese, then picked up the GHG fullbodies and shells and headed to the airport to pick up my father on our way to the eastern shore where the next morning Pro-Staffer Tom Marvel put us on the birds with one of his fantastic guides, K.C.. This was our second year doing this father/son trip with Tom's outfit and as usual he put us on the birds. We shot a limit of Canadas and three mallards by 8:15 and then headed over to the Chester River to shoot divers, where we limited in about an hour on bluebills and were able to shoot one Can. Probably should of had more Cans, but my brother was shooting blanks out of his gun and my father had forgotten to chamber a live round, I shot my limit of 1, ha ha !. An added bonus was a greenhead that was flying with three blackheads, a quick call and he was definitely willing to stop flying at breakneck speed and join our spread and bag limit. The hand and goose photo is in there to show reference to a small bird with lighter markings than usual, thought it was a cool looking bird.
Thanks to Tom and his guys who are fantastic to be around in and out of the blind.

Max,

Tommy, as you know, runs a great operation. Glad to see you and your brother & father had a good time. Did you bring the pup?

Max,

As Rob said, Tommy runs a pretty good operation. Glad to see there is still some action down onthe Chester. He's a pretty good guy, and he has a stand-up staff as well. Good job !!

Those trips for us are all about laughes, so I have to include this. That Friday morning we get the rig all set up on a farm pond for Canadas, the guide goes to park the truck and I lead the way into a brand new blind, fully brushed and I have a flash light well I must have missed seeing a cross beam, WHACK!!!!

Knocked myself out cold for about 2 seconds. My brother hears this looks in and sees me with my flashlight shining out from under my waders I slumped over my blind bag and my gun, luckily still in the floating case is slumped over me. Well he fell over laughing so hard and my father almost wet himself. I woozy the rest of the day.

Next day, a single bill comes into the spread, KC says "grab them" meaning the guns, but I heard "grab him" so I rise up and beautifully miss twice. He looks at me and goes "what the He__ was that all about" well we had had 20 bills working us off the corner of the blind when I stood up. My bad My bad.

Rob- The pup has a partially torn ACL (according to my vet) so he has been out of commission pretty much the entire season. Vet says its very very rare to see that injury in a dog that is only 7 months old!

Great hunt, with our mild weather its great to see that Tommy still got it. It helps to have clients that know how to hunt as well.
