Today was just one of those days that was meant to be! We returned to a place we previously scouted 2 weeks ago. We hoped that the 2-week break combined with this current cold front would help to pile more birds in our flooded timber hole.
AND THAT IT DID!:D
I shot my 6 duck limit in 55 minutes! Today was the juvenille hunt for Alabama.
I literally watched hundreds of ducks pour into our hole after we picked up decoys. IT WAS AWESOME!
Here is a picture of me with my 6 birds.

From L-R the ducks are: H Mallard, D Mallard, H Gadwall, D Gadwall, H Gadwall, D Wood duck.
I barely even had to call, these ducks were just dumping right in.

Our season doesn't actually run into feb., just the two days of the youth hunt usually occur the second weekend of the month. I was jealous as could be as I was sitting there watching him shoot all those ducks by himself. It was a dead timber break in the middle of a tupelo swamp. And all we did for a blind was stand up next to a tree. That mossy oak break up blends in great against trees. I wish ya'll coulda heard how loud it got when thousands, no joke, of birds were dive bombing us. I could hardly call my heart was beating so fast.

Tom def. hit the nail on the head. Them birds wanted in there so bad, no blind or anything was necessary. We just stood beside a tree.
That noise of whistling wings overhead is the once ethat makes your heart skip a beat...young or old.
This was quite away to end the season!
Sept. 1 here we come! :)
