Hunting in Canada

Can anyone tell me how much licenses cost in Canada someday I want to go there hunting. And are the seasons and bag limits the same as here?

I am not sure of the license cost, but I do know the seasons and the limits are different from here. I know some of our guys that go up there every year will have more detailed information on that.

I think that it varies by province. I did a Google search and all the provinces come up separately. If you do a search of the province you are looking to hunt, you will get more information than you ever dreamed about.

Sasketchewan is where I go, and to be honest, I cant recall the cost. With border fees to cross with guns, stamps etc I think @ 170 or so? I will try and dig up an old license. Bag limits are MUCH increased over what we are allowed in Minnesota. There really isnt a comparison.

If I remember correctly, the license was around $100 and it was about $30-$40 per gun to get them into Canada. The limits in 2004 when I went were 8 ducks and 8 dark geese a day. I hope this helps.

Here in ontario we are aloud in the early season 8 geese. Then when duck seaosn opens 2 weeks later, the limit is 5 geese, and 6 ducks 1 black. Cant help you on the license.

I head to Alberta a few times a year and I know it costs us about 150 dollars in licenses. You need several various different permits and a duck stamp in Alberta. This last year they also dropped the price to 25 dollars to get your gun across the border. These prices are all in Canadian currency. So it is actually less in US dollars. The bag limits in Alberta are 8 dark geese a day, 8 ducks a day and 20 white geese a day. Hope this helps.

I've been to both Saskatchewan and Manitoba several times. I didn't go last year but up until last year the cost was basically a $100 bill for license. That doesn't include the cost to bring in firearms...license only.
