What kind of setup do you have now?

Jerry,
I have a Canon 20D w/ Canon 100-400mm EF Telephoto. Getting still images is not a problem but those moving targets are another story (not that it's the camera's fault.)

Must be tricky snapping photos of those little buggers....
I love the GW's, one of the absolute best duck hunts I have had has been these guys on a mid November river hunt, buzzing the blocks by the 00's and 00's....
I have always been amazed at how much longer the GW's stay this far up north as compared to the BW's that migrate out of here in early to mid September...

Which was easier to capture on the camera -- the teal or the jet?

Nice pic Rob. What mode were you shooting in? Don’t know if this will help, but it looks like it was really bright out so if you step up the aperture you will have any easier time getting those fast little suckers in focus. I am surprised the camera did not just snap right to it since there was no background.
Another thing is to turn off the IS if you don’t need it. Seems to help speed up focus. Or it is just me.
Great Pic!
