alright I (actually both my dad and I) are looking into layout blinds. we dont have very much for $$$ to spend but laying on your back in muddy fields SUCKS I am looking at the power hunter b/c of the price and we dont need much. how would field khaki do. Its cheap and I figure with the stubble straps I could just make it to be like the corn. please answer the khaki ? and give all info possible.

Walleye- Buy the Khaki. After you smear mud from one end to the other to knock any sheen off the fabric, you can't tell what color is under it anyway. With the stubble straps you can apply killerweed and or natural vegetation and vanish. You will be dang glad you bought it, and the money you saved can go to some new decoys!

walleye,
I def. agree with Mark on khaki. Once it is mudded they all look khaki anyways.

I plan on using some AT Killerweed as a base and then filling in with natural stuff when I get there.

wk,

The Field-Khaki Power Hunter is definitely a great blind at a very affordable price point. I used one the entire season. The Power Hunter affords the hunter an unrestricted 360 degree field of view. It sets up and folds down in seconds. The Power Hunter only weighs 11 lbs. The combination of it's lite weight and back pack style straps make it very easy to pack into a muddy field. Its low profile allows you to easily disappear in any field, no matter how thin the cover may be.

Field-Khaki Power HUnters will disappear in almost any field.

walleye, The Power Hunter is the blind I use on every hunt. It allows great visibility as well as concealment. Here are two pics of my blind in the field on hunts. As you can see you can blend them in very well. I know you will not be disappointed with a Power Hunter blind. Best of luck, T.J.

walleye killer,

The funny thing is the Khaki PowerHunter is the least expensive of the laydown blinds out there and my absolute first pick... Mud that badboy up, stuff some vegetation in the straps and get your gun ready... They flat out disappear pretty much anywhere... The pic shows one in a very bare crop field...

one last question guys. How is the visibility through the mesh and how much of a pain is it to get your gun after you flip the top? can i get my gun quickly? these are a couple things people said on reviews but I looked at the date and it was march 2005 so have you changed anything to improve? i dont care as much bout the fliptop but mainlly the visibility through the mesh. please answer honestly.

WK,

You will have no problem seeing through the PH's mesh top or back. As for your gun, you do not bring it in the blind with you as you might with the Finisher or Migrator or even our new Ground Force.

I am right-handed and I leave mine outside the blind to my right on top of my Floating Gun Case and with one fluid motion, can flip the top with my left hand, grab my gun with the right and come up shooting.

You should go to a dealer that has the Power Hunter in-stock so you can see how you like it. It is always good to see it first hand before you make you purchase. In the one I use, I sewed strap weight in the back where the flip top meets the bottom frame. It just gives the flip top a little assist when you throw it up.

Thanks,

Walleye Killer -

If you can't find a dealer with a Power Hunter in the area (Call the Gander Mountain stores as they may have them). Shoot me a pm and I'll be happy to meet you and your dad sometime this spring, so you can check out mine to get a feel for it.
