Pictures of ducks, geese, and crappie- What more could you ask for?

Yesterday I headed out to the lake with my buddy to do a little fishing. With the amount of waterfowl in the area our plans quickly changed.
Here are a few pics:

Thanks for the pics. Christian is right. Keep that camera with you all the time. I wish when I was growing up I had a camera with me. It would make for an awesome scrap book.

Travis,
We were fishing about any kind of structure we could find. Our water level is dropped in the winter. (about 5 ft. :( ) This leaves lots of brushpiles out of water and the docks do not have any water. It is still a little early, but we were doing our best.
Things will really start heating up in about mid-April. Got turkey huntin 'till about 10AM then head to the lake to catch some crappie. We usually do the best when the fish are spawning & 50-60 fish per day isn't uncommon.

Most of our fish came off of deep water boat docks. We are finding fish at two depths right now. The fish that are spawning a little early are in about the 10 ft. depth range right now. And we have also found a finesse bite at about 35 ft, but it is real lite.

It is awesome for me to see a man of your age putting forth the effort to shoot photography and display your work. Keep up the great effort and the great shots will come. There is a ton of hard work that goes into quality photography of ducks and geese and it looks like you are on your way. Please pay attention to the posts made by Jim Thompson. He is a very talented photographer and he can help us all in many ways.

Good Hunting!

Tom, come on over and we'll catch some. Are you going to be over in East TN anytime soon?

Those are some awesome pics man... That whitey looks like a real albino (as opposed to a farm duck) based on body profile and flight ability... I think I would have grabbed a Zara Spook and tried to bring that little jewel home with me...Shhh...Don't tell anyone. Also...I think your Bull Cans are Redheads... Either way, they are really cool to see in photos...Well done.

Cody,

Our turkey season opens on April 1 so I will be right here for a while! I used to spend a lot of time in East Tennessee because my grandparents lived in Jonesboro, and I have a lot of family in the Johnson City area. My parents have a place in Mountain City, but I never go up there. Where are you exaxctly?

Tom,
I am in Chattanooga. Most of my fishing is done either here, or a little south on Lake Guntersville. This is my last year for the TN juvi. hunt and I'm headed towards Manchester Sat. morning to try to take a nice gobbler. After that it will be on. We usually try to turkey hunt till about 10AM and then head to the lake while the spring crappie bite is still on.

Cody,

Awesome pictures! Nice fish too! I wish I lived in TN, you guys have the best turkey hunting, IMO. I hunted TN the last two springs and got some monsters. Good luck this spring, T.J.

TJ,
The turkey population is increasing every year. They can now be found in residential areas. Here is East TN we still don't have the concentrations you will find a little bit west, but there are enough to go around.

The only bird I have killed is an Eastern so I would like to branch out.

What species do you guys in Kansas get?

Cody,

I am hoping my 9-year old Butch will get his first gobbler this Saturday, but the weather looks like it is going to be pretty bad right now. He had 6 jakes 15 yards off the end of his gun last Saturday in Mississippi, but the gobbler stayed over the hill. I was more excited than I can ever remember being when I was holding the gun!

Good luck to you and post some photos after you get a big one!

Tom
