Hey has anyone built a goose tub before. I was thinking about making one for one of our ponds but i was just wondering a few things.

1. Is it to late...have the geese built their nest yet.
2. Do you drill holes in the bottom of the tub for water to get out.

Heres what i was gonna build mine off of using the plastic barrel:http://www.ia.nrcs.usda.gov/news/brochures/Enhance/8photo1.html

I got one for free a month ago from the DNR. I would call your local conservation office to see if they have any.

First I have to agree with Nick, call your local DNR to see if they will give you one, and I know that some of the geese here in Ohio are on nests, but there is still a ton that aren't. So I would get one out as soon as I can if you have place to put one.

Also if you do build one see if you can find a 30 gallon tub, they work the best, and yes I would put a few small holes at the bottom so rain water can drain.

Good Luck, and let us know what happens.
